We’re Tracking All the Sales and Trends During Amazon’s October Prime Day

This is the best personal blender, in a world that has recently made blenders personal. My colleague Adrienne So possesses the best and most reliable full-sized blender I know, the Vitamix 5200, which is also on sale for Prime Big Deal Days. But as she mentioned recently, she still doesn’t want to cause marital strife by leaving a big hurking blender pitcher in the sink every time she makes a smoothie in the morning.

At 1200 watts, it’s still a powerful machine, and it’ll chew through ice and fruit and whatever protein powders or greens powders you use in your potions each day. But it’s wee, and the blending cup turns into your sippy cup once you’re done blending. No big pitcher in the sink! Just a smoothie in your hand. Magic. Anyway, this Nutribullet Ultra is on sale right now, and it could save your marriage or something.

There was a day when high-end 4K monitors were a luxury. But this Dell 27 Plus 4K Monitor really made me reconsider that. On sale for just $270, this 4K monitor has the aforementioned crisp resolution, tons of adjustability, and even a 120 Hz refresh rate. There are plenty of old 1080p monitors people are buying today for the same price, probably not realizing they could get a huge boost in image quality. While it does have limited ports, there’s a version with a built in USB hub that costs $50 extra.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition. And you also don’t expect to leave your headlights on when you’re on a remote Delaware hilltop with no phone service. I’m telling you, you haven’t lived until you’re walking around a former superfund site trying to find a single cell-phone bar.

What I did eventually is I flagged down a passing pickup truck. And what he had was a portable jumpstarter from Gooloo—a wee powerpack jumpstarter so small it can fit under your front seat, but powerful enough to bring back my car from the dead.

Have you ever played Stardew Valley on your phone for an entire day straight? I have, and it’s all thanks to the Backbone One. Our favorite mobile gaming controller comes in a few different versions, but this is the best for most people. It stretches across the back of your device and turns your phone into something that feels like a miniature gaming console, complete with pass-through charging. The Backbone app is great too, with game suggestions, one-button streaming capabilities, and built-in support for voice chat or clipping. The controller-app combo has support for PS Remote Play, Xbox Remote Play, Steam Link, and additional cloud gaming services. The buttons are clicky and easy to use for hours and hours (and hours).

The Netgear Orbi 770 Series brought peace and harmony to my home. We’re a busy family of four who like to play games online and stream TV shows and movies, and we have a ton of smart home gadgets, so our Wi-Fi demands can be extreme. My teens instantly berate me as the keeper of the internet if there’s a hint of lag or buffer, but the stable and speedy Orbi 770 gave me two weeks of peace. It’s easy to set up and use, and provides expansive coverage (a three-pack can cover 5,800 square feet). That’s why it currently tops our best mesh Wi-Fi systems guide. It’s a shame that a subscription is required for enhanced security and parental controls, and it’s not the cheapest mesh to begin with, so this discount is well worth grabbing.

This at-home DNA testing kit identifies up to 21 breeds, 64 genetic health markers, 50 genetic trait markers, blood type, and oral health. All you have to do is orally swab your pet, send back the sample in a self-addressed package, and wait for five weeks for results to be delivered to your inbox or stored in your online account. I love that Basepaws screens for and gives an oral health report (I have since started brushing my cats’ teeth), gives their blood type, and alerts if your pet is a carrier for any potentially harmful diseases or genetic health issues. This was the most complete health information of the kits I tested, and I love that I can easily send all of this important health info to my vet for any upcoming visits or emergencies. Normally $159, it’s almost half off at $85—the lowest price we’ve seen this year.

My fiancé has tried almost every remedy for minor shoulder injuries, including traditional ice packs and heating pads. The Hyperice X Shoulder makes all of those methods feel outdated. He uses it after beach volleyball games and workout sessions when he feels particularly sore, and he says it makes a significant difference. The temperature settings range from 45 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit. There is a newer model available now that features an upgraded battery and built-in compression therapy, but the compression is so subtle that I barely noticed it. The original model is still an excellent choice, especially with a $100 discount.

This Bosch is compact, superautomatic espresso machine a bit like my top-pick De’Longhi Rivelia ($1,300)—which is also on sale right now, and which I love especially for it’s swappable bean hoppers and super-frothy milk steaming system. But this Bosch Series 800? In addition to espresso and a seemingly limitless supply of downloadable drink recipes from all over the world, it just kinda… makes crazily round, roasty, drip-style coffee. For those whose idea of good drip coffee is coffee-tasting coffee, the stuff that fills your whole world with roasty-bean notes and excellent, thick body? This thing makes it. Honestly, I have four espresso machines lined up on my counter right now. First thing in the morning, when I don’t want to think, I keep reaching for this Bosch for a big, full-flavored cup. It tastes like a chocolate bar.

I can’t believe how many of you are buying this natural deodorant right now. A ton of the classic scents are available on Amazon (Citrus & Herbal Musk and Bergamot & Pine both look good.) There are a ton of great smart lights out there, but the one I’m actually glad I bought is the Govee 12-inch Smart Ceiling Light. It’s a flush-mount light that has both a diffused layer of light shooting straight down, as well as soft glow around the edge, both of which are controllable independently.

I picked up this light a few months back at the full price of $80, but you can save nearly half off on Prime Day. A two-pack is available with a less generous discount, so if you want to pick up a few of them, make sure to choose the single pack.

Another killer sale, this Moto G Stylus 5G 2025 is excellent for anyone who desperately wants a headphone jack baked into their smartphone. It also features a microSD card slot to expand on the 256 GB of built-in storage, another rare perk these days. Not to mention there’s a built-in stylus you can pull out from the bottom of the device to doodle or sign PDFs. It may not receive a ton of software updates, but it’s a feature-rich budget phone with good performance and great looks, and it’s near impossible to find a similar alternative.

When we’re talking about the best blenders, there’s really only one name that comes to mind: Vitamix. And of the many blenders Vitamix makes, one stands above the rest. I’m talking about the classic Vitamix 5200, which has been going strong for decades and is on sale with a generous $120 discount this Prime Day.

This is Vitamix’s bread-and-butter blender, built to last as long as it’s been around. The luxury Vitamix Ascent X2 is also on sale, however. It’s newer, more expensive, and rarely goes on sale, but it still managed to earn a spot alongside the 5200.

I’m currently working on a gift guide for the plant lover in your life, and whomever that may be, I think they might really like this grow-your-own mushroom kit. Especially since I have never seen it on sale until now. You’ve probably seen these before from other brands, but North Spore’s are shipped fresh, so you’re likely to get multiple fruitings. I’m already on my second one! They come with a spray bottle so you can keep them moist, but I’ve not been as disciplined about this as I should, and have still had success. I’ve only tested the oyster mushroom kit, but other Prime Day sale offerings include trendy lion’s mane.

I’ll be honest, I never thought Samsung’s wacky idea of smooshing two monitors together to create the “super ultrawide” aspect ratio of 32:9 would ever work, but I’ve been wrong before. And I was wrong here. The Odyssey G9 and its various forms have all been smash successes, and you can save $700 off my favorite variant this Prime Day.

There are a handful of these monitors available, but I’m highlighting the Odyssey OLED G9. Why? It’s right there in the name: OLED. You get stunning colors, searing highlights, true black, and response times that will make even the speediest monitors blush.

Hyperice’s Normatec Go utilizes the same air compression technology and condenses it into portable calf sleeves. I’ve used these while working from home—they’re quiet enough to wear under your desk during Zoom meetings—and while making dinner. The 360-degree compression zones pulse in waves to boost circulation and flush out lactic acid, and you can toggle between seven intensity levels. Additionally, the Bluetooth app connection enables easy tracking of sessions and adjustment of settings. If you’re a frequent traveler, a runner, or someone who just appreciates practical recovery gear, the Normatec Go is worth the splurge.

Anyone tired yet? Maybe it’s just the caffeine starting to wear off, but the Coop Home Goods Cut-Out Pillow is looking mighty attractive right about now. It’s not quite the best pillow you can buy overall – that title goes to the Purple Freeform Pillow, which is also on sale – but our own Nena Farrell crowned it as the best memory foam pillow around, particularly for side sleepers.

Everything you need to know about it is right there in the name. Logitech really came out and just made the best mouse for… well, everything? OK, maybe it isn’t the best for gaming, but the Logitech MX Master 3S is the go-to mouse in just about every other case. It’s comfortable, lightweight, and built to last a decade or more, and you can score a rare discount of $20 off for Prime Day.

Why the discount? Logitech just launched the MX Master 4 a week ago, and as you can probably guess, that one isn’t on sale. Not a problem, though, because the MX Master 3S is equally as excellent. It’s not the latest and greatest, but when you see a rare discount on an MX Master, you jump at the opportunity.
