Memorial Day is fast approaching, because time only passes faster as we get older. You know what else we need as we get older? A better mattress. I can’t rave enough about how much changing my mattress helped my back pain, taking me from starting each day half hunched over to feeling like a springy teen again. While a mattress can’t turn back time, a better mattress can lead to a lot of things: Better sleep! Better support! Less pain overnight!

One of the best times to shop for a mattress is leading up to Memorial Day. We’ve rounded up everything we recommend for a better night’s sleep that’s currently on sale ahead of the holiday on May 26. Everything listed is based on queen size, with the discount listed based on the price we usually see these mattresses and sheets available for.

Avocado

Here’s a sale that will have you saying “it’s an Avocado [mattress], thanks!” (IYKYK, we miss the Vine days). The organic materials of these mattresses are no joke, though, and provide you with support by way of materials like organic latex. You can use code HONOR15 to get 15 percent off the Avocado Green mattress, or HONOR10 to get 10 percent off the Eco Organic Hybrid mattress.

Helix

The maker of our favorite mattress has kicked off its Memorial Day Sale with a nice discount: 25 percent off with the code MEMDAY25. It’s not the lowest discount we’ve seen, but the lowest these mattresses go is 27 percent off, so it’s pretty close. You’ll also get a free sheet set and mattress protector with the purchase of any Luxe or Elite mattress. The savings shown are based on the usual price we see.

Naturepedic

“Organic” pertains to mattresses too, and this is the central theme of Naturepedic’s mattresses. Organic cotton, wool, and latex work together to lend you both pressure relief and support. And to really push the envelope (or rather, box), you can customize the firmness on both the left and right sides of the EOS Classic mattress. The entire site is 20 percent off with the code MEMORIAL20, which you can apply at checkout for a mattress or the brand’s fantastic sheets.

Nolah

It’s hard to say “no” to Nolah’s Memorial Day deal (and the Evolution Hybrid mattress, if I’m being honest). Yes, it’s an exceptional mattress that was built for relieving pressure and supporting lower backs, but 35 percent off your purchase and two free pillows is pretty sweet. Plus, WIRED readers get an extra something-something ($50 off with code WIRED50). We usually see some kind of sale already underway at Nolah, but these are better prices than you’ll regularly find.

Brooklyn Bedding

Brooklyn Bedding makes a whole lotta mattresses, all made in Arizona! Fan favorites (not just for us but for sleepers out there near and far) include mattresses like the Brooklyn Aurora Luxe Hybrid, which is a whole other level for keeping you sleeping cool. For Memorial Day, you can get up to 30 percent off sitewide with code MEMORIAL30.

Birch

Birch is the organic sister brand of Helix, and it’s running the same early Memorial Day Sale with the code MEMDAY25 for 25 percent off site-wide. While you won’t get extra sheets, you will also get two of Birch’s Eco-Rest Pillows with any mattress purchase. Birch makes both our favorite organic mattress and our favorite mattress topper (organic or not!), and it’s a great choice if you’re looking to go organic in your bedroom. After all, you spend eight hours a day sleeping in there. The savings shown are based on the usual price we see, rather than the full list price.

Bear

Bear’s Elite Hybrid Mattress is a fantastic choice if you suffer from back pain. Bear makes some of the firmest mattresses we’ve ever tried, but even as a side sleeper, I found this mattress comfortable all night long. Bear’s Memorial Day Sale has everything 35 percent off, plus two free pillows, with the code MEMORIALDAY. Bear usually runs a 30 percent discount on its site, so it’s not a huge discount off what we usually see, but it’s still a great price for a great mattress. The discount is based on the price we usually see rather than the mattress’s base price.

Saatva

Eyeballing a Saatva mattress? It’s your time to act, as the brand’s Memorial Day mattress sales are officially rocking and rolling. You can save $400 off the base price of a $1,000+ mattress, so that includes everything from the uber-popular Saatva Classic to the more specialized Saatva Rx (which may be heaven-sent for sleepers that want some soft support for their back and joint pain). You’ll want to use our exclusive links below to get the discount added, or click this link here. You can also get the brand’s fantastic percale sheets and down alternative pillows at a discount, too, to go with your new mattress.

Leesa

Leesa’s Early Access Memorial Day Sale is code-free, with 30 percent off certain mattresses on its site. Our favorites from Leesa are its cooling mattresses, specifically the Leesa Sapira Chill and the Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid. You can score both during the early sale, with the discount shown based on the price we usually see.

Essentia

Canadian mattress brand Essentia is throwing its name into the Memorial Day mattress sales hat, with 25 percent off sitewide and a free gift with purchase. You’ll see the discount applied once you add the mattress to your cart. The brand’s specialty is organic latex mattresses, and we’ve noted that Tatami organic mattresses are on our radar since they give off good pressure relief for those battling with back pain on the reg.

Best Memorial Day Pillows and Sheets Deals

Courtesy of Cozy Earth

Cozy Earth

If you’re interested in trying bamboo sheets, our favorite splurge set is on sale right now. Cozy Earth is known for its decadently soft bamboo sheet set, and while there’s a Memorial Day Sale already live that gives you a discount for buying three items or more, you can use our code WIRED to get 35 percent off anything on Cozy Earth’s site. We’ve tested tons of Cozy Earth items, from bamboo sheets and comforters to its towels and even socks, and have been impressed at every turn with how soft the items are.

The Citizenry

I’ve slept on every major sheet brand and every type of sheet, and the brand I recommend shopping the most is The Citizenry. This artisanal brand makes he best soft yet breathable percale sheets and the best linen sheets for the price, both of which are organic. You’ll even find The Citizenry’s sheets in the WIRED 101 that lists our 101 favorite gear ever. The sheets are already a great price for what you’re getting and aren’t often on sale, which makes the current Memorial Day Sale so exciting. Everything on the site is 20 percent off, no code required, including both sheet sets we can’t stop recommending.

Brooklinen

Brooklinen is a big favorite in the world of bedding, and the company makes a huge range of products. Sheets! Comforters! Pillows! Towels! Bathrobes! You name it, Brooklinen probably has it, and it’s all on sale for 25 percent off right now for Brooklinen’s Memorial Day Sale. We’re especially big fans of the down comforter and down pillow, but Brooklinen’s super crisp organic percale sheets is one of our favorite sets of organic bedding.

Nuzzie

Nuzzie is a smaller bedding brand that primarily makes fantastic weighted blankets, but also makes a set of my favorite cooling bamboo sheets. Nuzzie’s running a spring sale with the code SPRING15 to get 15 percent off both sheets and weighted blankets, and I can’t recommend both enough as we head into hotter weather. I also really love how lightweight Nuzzie’s Ice Knit weighted blankets are and how cool the bamboo cover is, especially as someone who prefers a gentle weight over a heavy press of a blanket. (I use the 12-pound, even though that’s below the recommended 10 percent of my weight.)

Purple

Purple makes our favorite pillow, the Purple Freeform, which is incredibly lofty and bouncy thanks to its high-density memory foam and polyester fill core, plus the honeycomb-shaped gel layer that surrounds it. It’s fully adjustable, too. Both it and the nonadjustable Purple Harmony (which has multiple sizes instead to replace the adjustability) are on sale right now on Purple’s website during its early Memorial Day Sale.

Buffy

Buffy’s gear is just about always on sale for 20 percent off. It’s currently calling that discount its spring sale, but you can find it all the time. But time and time again, I’m so impressed by Buffy’s bedding that I don’t even care if it’s not a unique sale. You should still shop it. Buffy’s down-alternative Cloud Pillow is one of my favorite pillows. I like it much, much more than any real down I’ve tried, and it uses recycled plastic bottles instead in its design. And both its Supima cotton percale sheets and eucalyptus-based Breeze Sheets are fantastic for hot weather.
